  • Shark Feed Tour

    Shark Feed Tour

    • When: Monday and Thursday
    • Time: 1:00 p.m. 
    • Overview: Guests will receive a 15-minute lesson about shark biology, shark myths, and our shark species at the Oklahoma Aquarium. Guests will visit the food prep kitchen and go above our world-famous bull shark tank during feed time. This tour is 30 minutes.
    • Cost: $15 (up to 25 people)

    Guidelines: 

    • Guests must arrive 10 minutes prior to start time to sign a waiver of participation. This program begins promptly at 1:00 p.m.
    • Guests must be able to walk up a flight of stairs without assistance (this tour is not wheelchair accessible; strollers are not permitted).
    • No food or beverage will be permitted while behind the scenes. 
    • Please be advised that guests under 48 inches may have difficulty viewing all parts of the tour.

  • Shark Encounter and Feed Experience

    Shark Encounter and Feed Experience

    • When: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 
    • Time: 11:30 a.m.
    • Overview: Guests will receive a 15-minute lesson about shark biology and conservation. Guests will then visit our large animal quarantine to feed our zebra sharks. Finally, guests will watch our biology staff feed the juvenile bull sharks. This animal encounter lasts 30 minutes.
    • Cost: $25 per person ($20 for members) plus general admission
    • Minimum of 2 participants per group; maximum of 6 participants per encounter

    Guidelines: 

    • Guests must arrive 10 minutes prior to start time to sign a waiver of participation. This program begins promptly at 11:30 a.m. 
    • Guests must be able to walk up a flight of stairs without assistance (not ADA accessible; strollers not permitted).
    • No food or beverage will be permitted while behind the scenes.
    • We recommend participants be at least 48 inches tall as some parts of the tour may be difficult to see for small children.       
    • Guests are not permitted touch the zebra shark during the encounter (feeding will take place without physical contact).
  • Sea Turtle Encounter

    Sea Turtle Encounter

    • When: Monday through Friday 
    • Time: 3:15 p.m. 
    • Overview: Participants will receive a 15-minute lesson about sea turtles and how we can all conserve them, followed by the opportunity to watch our educator feed Oklahoma’s most beloved loggerhead sea turtle! This animal encounter lasts 30 minutes.
    • Cost: $25 per person ($20 for members) plus admission
    • Minimum of 2 participants per group; maximum of 6 participants per encounter

    Guidelines:

    • Guests must arrive 10 minutes prior to start time to sign a waiver of participation. This program begins promptly at 3:15 p.m.
    • No strollers or wheelchairs (all participants must be able to climb a flight of stairs without assistance). 
    • No food or beverage will be permitted while behind the scenes. 
    • We recommend participants be at least 48 inches tall for optimal viewing. 
    • Participants will not be permitted to touch the sea turtle during the encounter (feeding will take place without physical contact). 
    • Any participants aged 12 and under must be accompanied by another paying adult participant (18 years or older).
  • Behind-the-Scenes Tours

    Behind-the-Scenes Tour

    • Cost: $10 per participant* 
    • When: 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday; 11:45 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. 
    • Overview: Guests will visit our small and large animal quarantine facilities where we care for animals prior to placing them on exhibit. Guests will see our juvenile bull sharks, a sea turtle, and many other fish. This tour is 30 minutes.

    *If you are a member or you have purchased admission already, please choose the "Tour Only" ticket option.

    Guidelines

    • Guests must arrive 10 minutes prior to start time to sign a waiver of participation.
    • This tour is wheelchair accessible, however, some stairs are required for optimal viewing.
    • Strollers are NOT permitted.
    • No food or beverage will be permitted while behind the scenes.
    • There will not be any opportunities to touch animals directly.
    • All ages welcome.

  • Summer Seafari
    Spend summer break under the sea and learn all about the amazing animals at the Oklahoma Aquarium! Campers will spend the day alongside aquarium staff learning about the animals and their care. With introductory microscopy, comprehensive behind-the-scenes tours, and animal feeding and handling opportunities, campers will get a well-rounded introduction to the worlds of wildlife biology and animal husbandry.

     

    Campers will learn about:

    • The diversity of reptiles 
    • Sharks and shark conservation
    • Coral reefs and reef conservation
    • Animal adaptations
    • How to use a microscope
    • How we care for and feed our animals
     

    Guidelines for campers:

    • Participation is limited to ages 7-11 (at time of the camp) 
    • Participants are expected to bring a lunch 
    • Participants must wear close-toed shoes 
    • We strongly recommend that participants wear their camp t-shirt (distributed upon arrival) 
    • A parent/guardian must come inside during drop-off to sign a waiver 
    • Cell phones and cameras are allowed, unless camp instructors indicate otherwise 
    • Participants are expected to wear masks to help prevent the spread of COVID-19* 

    *In accordance with CDC recommendations we ask that all campers wear a mask (except when eating or drinking). If a camper arrives without a mask, the aquarium can provide one.
